Act Like an Animal to Help Find Your Purpose

I was watching a show called Frozen Planet recently and became absolutely fascinated by the fact that every animal has a predetermined purpose and role to play. Nobody explains their purpose to them—they are just born instinctively knowing what to do, how to behave, where their place is among their peers, competitors, and all of nature. They are born knowing what to eat and how to survive. Sure, they learn from their parents, too, but most of it is based on instinct. They are born predisposed to do whatever it takes to survive. It's kill or be killed, and they understand that death is a part of life itself. Their only goal is to reproduce and survive as long as they can. That is an animal's life.

Humans have made life into such a confusing and stressful existence. So many arbitrary expectations, judgment, and criticism out there. You never find an elephant who dreams of becoming a lion. He knows he will always be an elephant and THAT is his role for his entire life. But humans are different because we have many more possibilities than the animals do, and less limitations. So if one of us sees what another human is doing, we believe we can copy them and have the same results, even if it goes against our own instincts.

WE TRY TO BECOME A LION WHEN WE WERE BORN AN ELEPHANT, AND WE LOSE SIGHT OF WHO WE WERE BORN TO BE. SO OFTEN, WE GO AGAINST OUR OWN NATURAL INSTINCTS.

We each have a unique purpose, but it's completely hidden from us. WHY? So that we can use our lives to follow the clues to discover it and step INTO it. We were born to grow, to evolve, and to uncover our own purpose. We were born to go on this journey of being human, this journey of self-discovery. You do it by trying out different things, but most of all, by being very in touch with your own intuition and allowing it to guide you. Your intuition, or your instinct, holds the key to finding your purpose, it is the only part of you that never forgot what your purpose is. It is our job to listen to it and follow it.

INSTINCT IS WHAT THE ANIMALS ALWAYS LISTEN TO—THEY NEVER ALLOW COMPARISON AND SOCIETAL EXPECTATIONS TO GET IN THEIR WAY. THEY JUST DO WHAT THEIR INSTINCTS TELL THEM TO DO.

I propose that we start acting more like animals, and start listening more to our instincts. As human beings, we have such great potential to positively impact others by stepping into our own purpose. Think about it- is there anything more inspiring than seeing someone pursue a dream they really care about? It's because they are pursuing their true instincts, even if it goes against other peoples' expectations. If everyone followed their instincts and pursued them wholeheartedly, there would be so much less confusion and frustration in the world.

But humans have it backwards. We are born into our own society's predetermined set of expectations based on what other humans have done in the past. We let values concerning wealth, materialism, and acceptable roles cloud our own sense of instinct. We try to copycat what other wealthy/influential people have done in the past. But what we don't understand is those people were following their own instincts which led them to become influential people who attracted wealth because of all the value they produced.

WE WILL NEVER CREATE AS MUCH VALUE OR FULFILLMENT IN THE WORLD IF WE DO NOT FOLLOW OUR OWN INSTINCTS.

Why is that? Because whenever we follow someone else's path, our value becomes diluted because it doesn't naturally come from within. So tell me, are you diluting your own value by following someone else's path? Are you ready to listen to what your own instincts are trying to tell you? Comment below and let me know about your own journey.
